One of the workshops I'm looking forward to at the upcoming ADN Conference is entitled, "Medical Solutions for Problematic Behaviors". It will be presented by Dawn Rossi, an awesome mom of a daughter who has made great strides using biomedical interventions to help overcome her developmental delays and attachment issues.
I'm looking forward to hearing what Dawn has to tell other parents about her journey into treatments that were originally designed for children on the autistic spectrum, but are proving beneficial to children with a variety of neurological and emotional/behavioral issues.
Dawn has been instrumental in my pursuit of biomedical testing and interventions for LuLu that we started last fall. Since then, and especially through the listserv that Dawn moderators --
attachasd -- I have learned tons about how vitamins, minerals and diet can impact behaviors and neurological functioning. It is a complex field and requires parents to really research and search out the best resources and professionals to aid them. Dawn willingly shares her journey and resources with others. I'm excited to hear the response of other parents as Dawn introduces this field of interventions to them.

To add to this presentation, the folks I've been working with at
the Hyperbaric Therapy Center will be exhibiting. They will be bringing a mild hyperbaric oxygen chamber to the conference to give attendees a glimpse at this intervention.
I know when it comes to children who have PTSD, RAD and other trauma-related issues that medical/biomed solutions may not be right for each of them. But the exciting thing is that these interventions ARE helping many of them. Enough that it's worth exploring.
Because I know many parents are like me -- you go to conferences to learn new things and get new ideas -- I know that Dawn's workshop will be one that is filled with new ideas.
Like I said, I can barely contain my excitement about this conference!!!!!
