This may take the cake for a “You’ve Got to be Kidding me Story.” You may have heard about “spiritual healing.” I remember it being very popular in the 1970’s when my parents actually once drove three hours to see a spiritual healer. This is a new modern technological twist on that old idea.

An eccentric licensed medical doctor from China named Sha Zhi Gang also trained in acupuncture will send a file over the internet that you can download on your home computer. He calls it “soul software” and claims to have been given “the Divine” power to heal a range of ailments including virtual lung, heart and spine transplants during which he never physically comes in contact with the body receiving the download. He downloads new software into malfunctioning organs which are then able heal themselves of their handicap according to him. He also claims to have downloads to improve relationships, to achieve financial success, to locate a soul mate, and to purify water. He claims to be scientifically and technologically legitimate and now has fans all over the world unlike most alternative medicine practitioners who only have local followers.

He claims that he was told by “The Divine” in a personal encounter to transmit his soul software to humanity for healing. These divine downloads carry divine frequencies that, according to Sha Zhi Gang can transform the frequencies of the body’s systems, organs, cells, DNA and RNA, thereby removing energy blockages which rejuvenates the body and prolongs life." He is able to transmit his soul acupuncture to more than one thousand people in each session.

He’s found some western followers who are training in his techniques so it may have an even broader application. Dr. Peter Huboda who heads the Sha Institute quit his post at university hospital and claimed that Sha’s techniques were “useful in an integrated mind and soul approach to medicine.”

Sha Zhi Gang has published a book which within three weeks of release reached the top five on The New York Times bestseller list called Soul Mind Body Medicine: A Complete Soul Healing System for Optimum Health and Vitality. He says he plans to write another book titled Divine Download.

While I personally believe in the power and healing of prayer I prefer the more personal level of praying for people I know and vise versa. I have a friend who once survived a blood transfusion of sixteen units after complications of a c-section delivering her 4th birth child. Doctors came out of the operating room to tell her husband she had died. I believe she lived and was healed by prayer assisted by real medical doctors.

I totally agree! I sat in one of my PRIDE classes and listened with horror as a potential foster mom explained that she would never take a child to a therapist as all the child needed was to pray. She, too, had had an abusive past and found her answer in God.

I praised her mental, spiritual and emotional fortitude but pointed out that not everyone has that and perhaps therapy could be helpful? She dismissed my concerns and reiterated that all a child needed was God.

Scared me!
