No Way Out!

Is it the weather, the alignment of the planets or what? There seems to be a recurrent theme here on adoptionBLOGS.com lately. We parents seem to be worn down or worn out and apparently, our children are just getting wound up to go another round. Perhaps it was the irregular schedule of summer giving way to the regiment of the school year that was the catalyst for our children and the “butt kicker” for us parents.

Because we have made a permanent commitment to our troubled children, there is no way out. Therefore, we trudge forward. Were it not for our daily planners, I am sure that appointments would be forgotten.

I find myself getting so frustrated over relatively stupid issues. Because they are issues that I thought had been resolved long ago, mountains we had already climbed. I admit to feeling somewhat condemned like Sisyphus to an eternity of pushing the same boulder up a mountain, only to have it slide back down just as I reach the top.

I found it somewhat comforting to read through the blogs today and see that I am not the only one struggling this week. Misery loves company you know. Hopefully, I won’t hear any of those “you must be saint” remarks this week from people who barely know me because I feel a bit more like a drowning rat.

Ah yes, here in Misery, I mean Missouri I would love some company...I guess. I hate to hear anyone else going through the stuff we have been experiencing, but at least we can learn from each other. I know I certainly have!

The most supportive thing we can do for each other sometimes is to share our misery - at the very least there's a dozen other people reading who will think "thank goodness, I thought I was the only one who sees it like this, I might not be crazy after all."

Just another day in paradise....

I don't face many of the issues that some of you face daily (not yet anyway) but I do feel your pain in your writings. I want to reach through the screen and try to help you!
I can't always respond because I haven't experienced some of the issues - but please know that reading your daily blogs has helped me a great deal in the past year!!

I admire all of you for the love you pour into your children.

May peace surround all of you!!
