I'm thankful that today isn't yesterday and it isn't tomorrow! Yesterday LuLu had quite a storm over the same math lesson that she breezed through today. (I have more to say about
Stormy Weather.) She was proud of herself and I pizzazzed the heck out of how quickly and accurately she regrouped those numbers and then did the chapter review.
I have no explanation for why some day certain things are so difficult for her and why other days they are not. Even LuLu commented on this today. How yesterday the very same type of problems seemed impossible to do. "My eyes kept jumping, Mom." Hmmm....tics? Not sure.
And tomorrow...well that one's shapin' up to be a doozie of a day as well. It is the day that my clients' award submittals are due. I haven't taken a real paying project on for months. Not since Ladybug Elementary opened. But these two long-term clients REALLY wanted help with their annual award submittals. These were "easy" projects back in the day....the day when I didn't already have a full-time job teaching LuLu.

So, I've squeezed the work in the early mornings, late nights and weekends. But tomorrow, LuLu and I will rise early to get her reading and math lessons done before she heads to a friend's house for lunch and the afternoon. Then I'll drive like a maniac all over the city picking up last minute pieces of these submittals and getting them downtown no later than 4 pm. Whew! The extra money will definitely come in handy. But the extra gray hairs from stressing about something that used to be so simple. YIKES!
So, around here my life is a bit like what the Missourians say about their weather "If you don't like what you've got today, stick around, you'll get something different tomorrow!" So true...so true!
